Join us in the chapel for an improvised acoustic performance by NYX composer Sian O’Gorman and cellist Garwyn Linnel. Through voice and cello they shape a fleeting landscape of resonance and breath – an invitation to listen to memory as atmosphere, texture and felt presence. After the performance, Sian and Garwynn will be joined by NYX movement director Imogen Knight and olfactory designers Alice Denim and Luka Sykes.
Composer and vocalist Sian O’Gorman, of the experimental vocal collective NYX, is joined by cellist Garwyn Linnell for an improvised acoustic performance shaped by the chapel’s luminous interior. Through voice and cello, they create a fleeting landscape of resonance and breath — an invitation to experience memory as atmosphere, texture and felt presence. Responsive and unrepeatable, the performance draws on the exhibition’s themes of grief, sanctuary and transcendence, allowing sound to move gently through the space and those gathered within it.
Following the performance, Sian and Garwyn will be joined in conversation by NYX movement director Imogen Knight and olfactory designers Alice Denim and Luka Sykes, whose scent work forms part of the exhibition’s immersive environment. Together, they will reflect on the collaborative process behind Miseris Succurrere Disco and the interplay between sound, movement and scent in shaping an embodied, sensory experience.
