Curators-in-residence Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard will present an informal guided tour of their exhibition Miseris Succurrere Disco.
Curators-in-Residence Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard will lead an informal tour of Miseris Succurrere Disco, the second chapter in their 2026 trilogy for Fitzrovia Chapel.
Taking its title from the motto of the former Middlesex Hospital — “I learn to help those in need” — the exhibition reflects on how personal tragedy can awaken empathy, mercy and collective care. During this special walkthrough, Forsyth & Pollard will share the thinking behind their transformation of the chapel into a vessel of memory, shaped by sound, light and scent.
Visitors will gain insight into the major new choral and electronic commission by experimental vocal collective NYX, developed within an enhanced acoustic environment in collaboration with Arup; the sculptural light intervention by scenographer Emmanuel Biard; and the evocative scent works created by Denim-Sykes. They will also discuss the symbolic totem presented on the chapel font by Turner Prize-winning artist Tai Shani, and how each element contributes to an immersive, durational experience moving from despair toward solace.
This relaxed event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the curators about their distinctive approach to storytelling and exhibition-making, and to explore the chapel’s luminous interior through conversation, reflection and shared encounter.
