Women of Fitzrovia

2 Pearson Square, Fitzrovia
25 March 13:00 - 13:30
  • This event has passed.

WE’RE SORRY BUT THIS EVENT IS NOW CANCELLED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

Throughout history, Fitzrovia has been home to many famous women in literature, politics, the arts and the nursing profession. To mark International Women’s Day in March, join us at the chapel as we celebrate the diversity of careers and livelihoods which have contributed to Fitzrovia’s identity as a thriving professional neighbourhood and creative hub.

Our Wireless Contemplation events are an opportunity to experience the chapel space while listening to the literary work of, and about, Fitzrovia’s famous residents. With a short introduction and specially chosen audio recording for each gathering, these free events provide a chance to take a lunchtime break from the outside world, and explore the creative, social and literary history of the chapel’s neighbourhood. This year rather than focusing on a single author per event, we have designed the programme around a series of themes throughout the year, and we look forward to welcoming both regular and new visitors.
