The Ward by Gideon Mendel

‘With The Ward, by photographer Gideon Mendel, the first exhibition in our #lineage series, we set our intentions: to display our heritage through beautiful, contemplative experiences that reflect Pearson’s exquisite chapel.

‘The exhibition is a hopeful reminder of how far we have come in our treatment of Aids, both medically and socially. Pictures that were challenging and provocative when taken have evolved into poignant portraits, warm and loving. He shows us the men, their families and carers and reminds us that not so long ago, they were persecuted and stigmatised. Our hope is that you will leave renewed, inspired.’

Chapel Artistic Director, Faye Hughes
